General topic: My website will be a business website for marine services and present “after care” information to keep our oceans clean. 

 

Audience: My target audience are vessel owners/maritime companies looking for marine services, usually around the ages of 30-60 years old and who are located near/in the Gulf of Mexico. Since these people are already most likely in the maritime industry, they know a decent amount about what services this company provides. When visiting this website, they are quite receptive as they are most likely looking for the services in which this company provides. They value hardwork and a job well done that gets their money’s worth. 

 

Purpose: Through this website, I want to create a more informational/easier accessible website for my brothers marine services company, while also addressing “after care” directions for ship owners to follow to decrease the pollution and waste released into the oceans by their ships (especially a dirty ship full of barnacles and bacteria on the bottom). The reason for communiticating this content to my audience is to persuade them that this company is the best fit for their maritime needs, and to use the website to pick out what service they are looking for and make an appointment. 

 

Text: Content I will be including on this website is information about the company, what the company offers, and details about the vessels my brother uses. For media, I will add pictures and videos, as well as links to the companies social media platforms. Also, I am thinking about adding an environmental aspect to it, to inform ship owners how to decrease their environmental footprint. 

 

Setting: My website will particularly circulate the community of maritime workers, who are looking for marine services on the coast of Texas in the Gulf of Mexico. 

Resources: My brother has a company website already, but it has so much potential to be better and more informative. I plan on finding resources through him on maritime services and researching environmental impacts the maritime idustry has on the oceans/ how they can improve to be more ocean friendly (cleaner boats are more ocean friendly :)).
